Author to talk about effort to ban DDT in Wisconsin at Nov. 4 meeting

The story of the grassroots campaign by citizen activists will be the topic of the Nov. 4 meeting of the Friends of the Black River. At the meeting, author and environmentalist Bill Berry will talk about his book “Banning DDT: How Citizen Activists in Wisconsin Led the Way.”

The efforts undertaken by concerned citizens who campaigned to have the use of DDT discontinued in Wisconsin is a story of resolve and eventual success. Berry will share his research for the book and how citizens can affect and change policy.

The meeting will be held in the Jackson County Bank community room beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is free and the public is encouraged to attend. For more information, e-mail to info_fbr@yahoo.com.
