The Friends of the Black River needs volunteers for Earth Day cleanups in Clark and Jackson counties. Cleanups in Clark County will be held Saturday, April 17, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Owen, Greenwood and Neillsville. Volunteers are asked to meet at 8 a.m. in Mill Pond Park, 511 Division St., Owen; Greenwood Park, Lone Road, Greenwood; and Listeman Park, East 15th St., Neillsville; to receive an assignment.

The Jackson County cleanup will be held Saturday, April 24, at Castle Mound State Park from 8 a.m. until noon. Admission to the park will be waived for cleanup volunteers. Volunteers are asked to arrive at the park by 8 a.m. to be assigned to a team.
