August 11, 2007 5th Annual Black River Clean-up
You're invited to join the Friends of the Black River to help clean up the Black River and its watershed during the 5th Annual Black River Clean-up on Saturday, August 11th, 2007.
This year, we are excited to team up with the Lake Arbutus Association as they celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Hatfield Dam on Saturday, August 11th.
Volunteer Opportunities:
•8:00 am - 11:30 am - Paddle the Black River and pick up trash (canoes are available free of charge)
•9:30 am - 11:30 am - Clean-up the Black River shoreline and landings by foot
•9:30 am - 11:30 am - Storm Drain Stenciling (paint "Dump No Waste, Drains to River" on local drains)
•12:00 noon - ?? - Volunteer at the Festival
All volunteers will receive free entry at the Hatfield Dam Party, free lunch, and a thank-you gift. Registration is required. If you would like to participate, please email: lobenmon@brf.org information and clean-up assignments will be mailed to volunteers closer to the date of the event.
