Wednesday, October 14, 2009 FBR Annual Meeting and Renewable Energy Options
On Wednesday, October 14th Friends of the Black River invites the public to attend their Annual Meeting at 7:00 PM at the Black River Falls Coop Credit Union Community Room. A free Subway sandwich supper will be served and the public is invited to visit and view the photographic highlights of the year. Following supper and a brief recap of 2009 events and elections, the audience will learn the latest information on renewable energy options in our area. For about 100 years, we have enjoyed what seemed like an endless supply of cheap energy. This has been due to our ability to extract cheap oil from the Earth. But we are too good at extracting finite resources from the planet. The days of cheap oil and cheap energy are probably gone for good. The cost of traditional energy has clearly shown a steady upward trend and it is likely that the cost of energy will continue to increase substantially.
The public is invited to come learn about the alternative renewable energy sources available to homeowners. Pipkin Electric, Sparta WI, is a leader in the field of home installations and related services.Specializing in solar and small wind installations for homeowners Pipkin will inform listeners about the financial incentives available. If you have ever wondered if renewable energy is right for your home or want to learn about cost, space requirements, reliability, maintenance and more this is a meeting you will want to attend.
The public is invited to join Friends of the Black River for this informative and entertaining evening on Wednesday, October 14th.
