November FBR meeting features Shaun Deeney, the new DNR Warden

The work of a conservation warden will be the topic of the presentation at the next Friends of the Black River (FBR) monthly meeting. The monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in the community room of the Co-op Credit Union. The credit union is located on East Main Street, Black River Falls (BRF).
Shaun Deeney, the new warden at BRF Department of Natural Resources (DNR) office, will give a talk titled, “Protecting Our Natural Resources.” The presentation will include information about the responsibilities of the DNR and the role of a conservation warden. He will also discuss conservation topics of local concern.
Deeney received his assignment at BRF this year. Previously, he worked as a Colorado wildlife officer after receiving a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology from Colorado State University. In Colorado, the game wardens also perform the wildlife management duties in their stations.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting to hear Deeney’s presentation. There is no admission to attend. For more information, contact the FBR by e-mailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or contact us.
