Friends of the Black River 2010 Earth Day Clean Up
Friends of the Black River will host its 2010 Earth Day Clean Up on Saturday, April 24th. Participants will meet at 8:30 AM at the Castle Mound State Park shelter. March 10 Dick Thiel, Sandhill Wildlife Area, Membership meeting at the CCU, 7 PM
Learn about native Wisconsin wildlife and outdoor skills from renowned wildlife biologist, outdoorsman and author, Dick Theil. All are invited
April 10 Robinson Creek Paddle with Sierra Club, meet at 10 AM on Old Hwy I bridge. Paddle to start at 11 AM. Call 284-4117 for information.

April 14 Kurt Brownell, Prairie and Natural Resources Specialist with the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort McCoy will give a presentation about some of the best pre-settlement prairie sites in Wisconsin. Take in this great presentation at the FBR membership meeting at the CCU at 7 PM.
April 17 Spring Whitewater Paddle, To begin around 11 AM, East side above Hwy K near Hatfield to the powerhouse. Call 284-4117 for information.

May 1 Annual Spring Paddle the Black River,11 AM Meet at Hall’s Creek Landing On Hwy E and paddle the drawdown to the dam. Call 284-4117 for information.
May 8, 11 AM Spring Hike on the East Bank Trail, Meet at lower portion of Pettibone Pass (Bottom Road) and hike into Morrison Creek Landing. We plan to have a botanist to help us enjoy spring blooms and foliage.
May 12 Reggie McLeod, founder and publisher of Big River Magazine, will talk about his very popular magazine and the Mississippi River valley, its people, places and events. Join us at the CCU, 7 PM for this May membership meeting.
June 5 RCPA Annual Meeting, Pancake Breakfast and Robinson Creek Paddle
June 9 Laura McFarland with Project RED, River Alliance of Wisconsin’s citizen based program to tackle invasive species along Wisconsin’s waterways. The public is invited for this informative FBR membership meeting at 7 PM at the BRF CCU.
June 12 Annual FBR Bike Ride To be held at Lake Wazee. Meet at the third boat landing at noon.

March 6, 2010, FBR held its second Kayak Skills Day

Monday, December 14, 2009 FBR CHRISTMAS EVENT FEATURED LOCAL RIVER FILM
Monday evening, December 14, at 6:00 PM Friends of the Black river will hold their annual Christmas party at the Falls Cinema Theatre. Featured will be unique and breathtaking footage of challenging whitewater rapids on an outstandingly scenic stretch of the Black River and on its tributaries. Cost is $10 and includes refreshments. Door prizes will be awarded and the public is invited.
