Bauer Brockway Natual Area Hike Rescheduled for Wednesday, August 11. 2010
The Friends of the Black River have rescheduled the tour of the Bauer Brockway Natural Area for Wed. August 11th. This area consists of a pine barrens habitat that is being restored and features a large variety of native plants that represent vegetation that was present at the time of European settlement. A representative of the Jackson County Forestry and Parks will be present to discuss management of the area for native species. Assisting on the tour will be Steve Humphrey, a local authority in the identification of native species.The tour will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, Aug.11 near the intersection of West Bauer and Brockway Roads just west of the Lake Wazee recreation area.
