The Friends of the Black River will hold its spring wildflower hike Saturday, May 13, 2023, starting at 10 a.m. The guided walk will help participants identify a variety of spring wildflowers found along the trail above Clear Creek. The trail starts on the west side of Pettibone Pass about 100 yards south of W8910 and 50 yards south of the creek bridge. Those interested in carpooling or caravaning to the trail head should meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce parking lot. The parking lot is located at 120 N. Water Street, Black River Falls. There’s no charge to take part in the hike.

There will be a hike-on-your-own option along the trail from Wednesday, May 10, through Monday, May 15. About 15 varieties of wild flowers will be identified by signs and a guidebook will be available at the trail head.

For more information, contact Jeff Polzin at 715-896-5534 or email info_fbr@yahoo.com.
