2022 guided prairie flower hike

The Friends of the Black River will hold its annual guided prairie wildflower walk Tuesday, July 19, beginning at 6:10 p.m. The site for the hike is in the Cataract area, and participants wanting to carpool or caravan to the site should meet in the Theisen Home and Auto parking lot on State Highway 54, Black River Falls at 5:30 p.m. and be prepared to leave at 5:45 p.m.

The three-quarter mile walk will be held on the Jim and Bernice Arena property located at N4261 Basswood Road, Sparta. Hike will be led by Arena and Steve Humphrey.

Directions from Black River Falls: Travel south on State Highway 27 then turn west on Basswood Rd (where County Highway S turns east). The site is about two miles from the Highway 27 intersection. Participants are asked to angle-park on grass along the driveway.

The rain date will be Wednesday, July 20.
