The Friends of the Black River will hold its annual wildflower hike Saturday, May 8. The trail is located on Pettibone Pass and is considered easy walking; the guided hike will last about an hour. For those unable to join the Saturday hike, self-guided walks can be taken May 7 and May 9, with the various plants of interest identified by markers.
Those interested in carpooling or joining a caravan to the trail head on Saturday are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce parking lot. The parking lot is located at 120 N. Water Street, Black River Falls.
There’s no charge to join the hike. Participants will be asked to practice social distancing and are advised to apply insect repellent.
