The Friends of the Black River will hold its annual wildflower hike Saturday, May 9. Each spring, the organization sponsors a hike for those interested in learning to identify spring wildflowers blooming in the Black River watershed and to enjoy nature.
The trail is located on Pettibone Pass and is considered easy walking; the guided hike will last about an hour.
Those interested in joining a caravan to the trail head are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce parking lot. The parking lot is located at 120 N. Water Street, Black River Falls.
There’s no charge to join the hike. Participants will be asked to practice social distancing and are advised to apply spray to repel ticks.
