Friends of the Black River needs volunteers for 2019 Earth Day cleanups

The Friends of the Black River is looking for volunteers for Earth Day cleanups in Clark and Jackson counties. The Neillsville cleanup will be held Saturday, April 27, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at 8 a.m. at 801 Hewett St., Neillsville (the old legion building near O’Neill Creek) to receive an assigned area. A lunch will be served to volunteers at the end of the morning.

The Jackson County cleanup will be held Sunday, May 5, at Castle Mound State Park from 8 a.m. until noon. Admission to the park will be waived for cleanup volunteers. Volunteers are asked to arrive at the park by 8 a.m. to be assigned to a team. The state forest will provide lunch to volunteers at noon.
